New to Atlanta

Just wanted to say Hi and that I am a bit of a newbie to the area. Just wondering if theres any recomendations on local talent that I should make a point of checking out, and perhaps meet potential band mates (I play bass). Other than that venues, websites, and so on, any help is greatly appreciated!!!
